Frequently Asked Questions
General
What does 'quantitative finance' mean in practice?
It means investment decisions are driven by mathematical models, statistical analysis, and data — not by subjective judgment or market sentiment. Our systems process historical prices, macroeconomic data, and risk metrics to determine optimal portfolio allocations.
Who are the founders?
Dr. S. Yanki Kalfa (Professor of Finance at Fordham University, ex-IMF, ex-World Bank) and B. Jeffrey Beyo (ex-Microsoft, MSc in Financial Markets from NovaSBE). The name Kalfa Beyo comes from combining their surnames.
Is Kalfa Beyo a licensed portfolio management company?
No. Kalfa Beyo provides the research, modeling, and optimization engine. Fund management and distribution are handled by licensed partners such as Global MD Portfoy, which holds the necessary SPK (Capital Markets Board of Turkey) license.
What is a white-label fund?
A white-label fund is designed and operated by one firm (KB) but distributed under the license and branding of another (the licensed partner). This model lets KB focus on quantitative research while partners handle regulatory compliance and investor relations.
Partnership
How does the partnership model work?
KB provides the quantitative research engine — data processing, optimization, risk management, and trade order generation. The licensed partner provides the regulatory framework, fund administration, and distribution network. The fund is structured under the partner's license.
What does KB provide to a partner?
A fully operational quantitative fund product: research and signal generation, portfolio optimization across multiple strategies, daily risk monitoring with automated trigger checks, discrete lot allocation, and trade order generation. No in-house quant team required on the partner's side.
What is required from a partner?
A valid SPK license for portfolio management, fund administration infrastructure, and a distribution network (TEFAS listing, investor relations). Partners retain full regulatory responsibility for the fund.
How do I start a conversation about partnership?
Contact us at info@kalfabeyo.com or through our contact form. We will schedule an introductory call to discuss your distribution capabilities, target investor base, and how a KB-designed fund product could fit your offering.
